August 16: Warm inside

It started snowing properly last night about 6pm and must have kept going pretty steady through the night as we woke up to a decent blanket of snow this morning. Luckily we had kept the fire going through the night so it was still pretty warm inside but looked pretty awesome outside. I liked this photo because it captures the warm feeling of sitting inside while still being able to look out at theย snow-scape… Another day off work to spend with the whanau on day 226 so I’m not complaining!

  1. First time in 4 winters I haven’t been in NZ and all I keep hearing about is how much snow you guys are getting. While in Edinburgh, it is just raining…..AGAIN! gutted I am not there

    • Yea it’s been pretty crazy and out of the ordinary – snow in Wellington and Auckland! But I’m a teacher and scored a 5 day weekend because of the snow so I’m happy! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I would say, besides saying i like the photo, that the only good thing about snow is that one can sometimes end up with days off work.

    Hope you survive your snow!

    • Thanks John ๐Ÿ™‚ Yea I did end up with 3 days off work so that was a nice bonus and all the snow has been washed away so back to normal now. Was good for a bit of a change but I’m glad we don’t get snow very often!
