This photo was taken last night when we arrived back into Christchurch but I didn’t have time to post because I was so exhausted that I fell asleep straight after I got home. The first image taken on my camera this trip (the phone did come in handy though) and I grabbed this shot on my way to the car of the outside of the recently renovated Christchurch Airport which is looking pretty flash! And this is the (slightly late) shot for day 343 🙂
This is the glass from the door to our room and it looks quite cool with the light from the lounge coming through at night… I’ve been meaning to take a photo of it for a while but keep forgetting then remembered it again when I was walking around looking for a photo tonight. Way too tired so off to bed now! Day 313 done 🙂
We called past a mall tonight after it was closed so I thought it would be a good opportunity to take some photos without all the people there. I took a few shots but it’s 11:50pm so I’m only uploading one (maybe some more to follow tomorrow if I have time) but this is my image for day 300! Only 65 days to go! 😀
I was looking around in Brylee’s toybox for something interesting to shoot when I saw this sparkly-star-wand-thing and took it out to see what I could do with it… I thought it might look good with a light behind it, so held it up in one hand with the camera in the other and positioned it so the ceiling light was directly behind. This was the second shot and looked sort of like what I had imagined in my head so here is the image from my 299th day of this project!
I’m hanging with my older brother tonight and got a bit bored watching X-Factor so went for an explore in the garage and found this weird electricity globe that lights up and sends out bolts of electricity when you touch it with your hand… Pretty random find on day 285 but had a play around with it and got some cools shots in the end 🙂
This is a shot up the wall toward the ceiling and my favourite feature of our house. We have a high tongue and groove ceiling in our little beach cottage and when we moved in the lounge was pretty badly lit but now we have a total of 13 bulbs lighting the room including these up-lights. We put just them on at night and it looks pretty cool as they light up the natural wood and give the house a pretty cosy feel combined with the fire going. Anyway, a pretty windy night for day 281 but all snuggled up and warm in bed so I’m happy. Night!
I’ve been borrowing an external flash for the last few weeks and have to take it back tomorrow so I though I’d have one last play with it tonight. I walked out the back door in the dark and went looking for something to shoot, armed only with the light from my iPhone. This was pretty close and looked interesting enough so fitted the bill! I played around with the flash then ended up reflected it off the leaves above the flower and like the effect of the bright greens in the background… Gutted I have to give the flash back tomorrow but happy it made an interesting shot for day 277 🙂
It’s my birthday today and my wife took me away for a night in Arakoa (Google it for those from outside NZ…). Had a great day and an awesome night to top it off! We went out for dinner and a walk then grabbed the camera and took a few shots on our way back to the motel. What a day for the 264th day of this project 🙂
PS. Spot the smiley face…
It’s my birthday tomorrow and my wife made me an awesome cake today! I wasn’t really supposed to have it until tomorrow but I’ve got a pretty busy day so I got it tonight and it’s even got a flash wee star on top… Woo hoo! I turn 25 tomorrow and apparently when a person turns 25 their frontal lobe stops developing and they become magically mature. So wait right there for some wise, insightful posts from tomorrow on for the rest of the year. Day 263 completed for the last time with a partially developed frontal lobe…
I was on a friends Facebook page tonight and saw a similar photo so thought I would give it a go myself. I experimented for a while with the right amount of pages to stand up enough without looking weird and droopy before deciding that four was the ideal number. I then put it on top of a box of tissues on Brylee’s high-chair with a bedside lamp behind it shining onto the back of the pages. The shutter speed had to be quite slow so I set up the tripod, got it into position and snapped a few shots. After a brief edit I was all finished for day 261 and quite like the result 🙂
