I was talking to Mel tonight when I noticed how awesome her eyes looked in the light. She has pretty cool eyes (which she’s luckily passed on to Brylee) so I grabbed my camera and took some shots in the natural light from the window you can see in the reflection. Check out the end result after de-saturating everything but the iris…
Apparently I can’t count! Yesterday was day 359 so logic would follow that today would be day 360 but that would mean that it would only be day 362 on December 31 when it should actually be 362 today seeing as how there are 365 days in the year. Brownie points for whoever can trawl back and find the day(s) that I miscounted!!
Anyway, my parents are house-sitting on a lifestyle block over Christmas and the retired couple that own the house clearly have a lot of time on their hands to spend in the garden. There are about 4 or 5 different colours of lily’s in one of their gardens alone and I had a wander around with my camera when we were out there today. I really like this shot because of the vivid yellow and black colours with the bright pink in the centre so chose it as the image for today.
I’ve driven past the bakery so many times at night and always thought it could look good in a photo but just never got around to it. But tonight I went out and threw my camera and tripod in the back just in case I had time on my way home – and I did! I really like the glass above the door and the reflection of the interior lights on it… Pretty happy with this effort for day 193 🙂
I was driving home this afternoon and drove past the local cricket/football grounds. There are leaves everywhere and the afternoon sun was giving them an awesome glow so I got home, fed Brylee and we bundled up and went for a walk to talk some photos – even ended up watching some football as well. I discovered yesterday that if I use the 2 sec shutter delay and have the bracket exposure setting on, it will take all three photos after the 2 seconds. I had avoided the shutter delay before as I thought I would have to take 3 separate photos and that would take ages but happy to discover I don’t… Add that one to the “new knowledge” box :-). Day 182 down – over the halfway mark tomorrow!! Woo hoo!
This is a little creek that runs into the lake at a gated community our friends live in. I was sitting in their lounge and I saw this and wanted to see what it would look like in HDR so I grabbed my camera and went for a wee wander. I didn’t notice until I got home and got the photos onto the computer how dark the clouds in the background where but I like the contrast between the peaceful foreground and the somewhat foreboding clouds in the background. And that’s the shot for day 176, thanks for stopping by 🙂
Heading home this afternoon and took a wee detour down to the Ashley River. Still learning with HDR but I like the result as you can have the effect of the clouds, see the snow on the mountains in the background and still be able to see the stones at the bottom of the water. This is the beauty of the different exposures used in HDR and something that you wouldn’t be able to get in a normal photo. Still enjoy HDR on day 174 of my daily photo challenge!
