December 27: Kiwi summer

Nothing symbolises a Kiwi Christmas and summer more than aย pohutukawa flower. It’s been another stunning summer day and still enjoying the long sunny days on holiday. I finished the side path at our house today and it looks awesome with the lime chip and I’m very happy with how it turned out ๐Ÿ™‚ We then lazed around in the sun followed by home-made pizza and cold beer on the deck. A great finish to a great day 359 ๐Ÿ™‚

December 4: Tiny Christmas tree

I don’t have my camera tonight!! We came home in a friends car last night and my camera was in the boot but I forgot to get it out when we arrived home and only realised tonight when I went to take my photo. So this photo of our little Christmas tree tableย decorationย was taken with Mel’s pretty average Samsung point-and-shoot which is marginally better than my phone… Marginally! But anyway, it’s spreading the Christmas cheer on day 336 so that’s what it’s all about…?

November 20: Family lunch

It was hot again today so we went out to Amberly for lunch and some family time. There is a cafe there that Mel and her grandparents often go to so we had a pizza for lunch then went to see the animals that they have for kids to feed. Another great day with Mel and Brylee on day 322 ๐Ÿ˜€

November 19: Spring flowers

I’m sitting here at 8:55pm and it’s still light. Not sunny but light enough to see pretty well and this makes me happy! It’s been a stunner of a day (apart from the wind) and this evening the wind died down and it got even hotter. My wife is out tonight so Brylee had her dinner then we went for a walk down to the general store to get fish and chips for dinner, watched the news, gave Brylee her bath and brushed her teeth then put her to bed. ย A great finish to a great day 321 ๐Ÿ˜€

November 16: Perfect wife

I got home from our game tonight just after 8pm and walked through the door to a sparkling clean house, dishes done, dinner and dessert cooked, baby bathed and in bed, and washing folded. What a lucky man I am to have such an awesome wife! I was pretty excited about the apple crumble so here is a shot of it fresh out of the oven. A great end to day 318 ๐Ÿ˜€

November 12: Flying balls

We’ve got my brother staying for the weekend while the EQC is in working on their house and as always, he was keen when I needed a hand for a photo. He brought Brylee an inflatable pool complete with small coloured plastic balls for her birthday last weekend and even though it’s hers, I think we’ve been having more fun with it than her. Anything can turn into a competition with us and the latest is trying to throw these balls through the little opening on the top from a distance. The things that entertain us… Anyway, after many attempts at getting our timing right between throwing and balls and taking the photo, this is our effort for day 314 ๐Ÿ™‚

November 11: Frosted glass

This is the glass from the door to our room and it looks quite cool with the light from the lounge coming through at night… I’ve been meaning to take a photo of it for a while but keep forgetting then remembered it again when I was walking around looking for a photo tonight. Way too tired so off to bed now! Day 313 done ๐Ÿ™‚

November 6: First birthday!

Today was Brylee’s first birthday and what a day! After all the planning that Mel has done for today, it was finally here and I actually can’t think of any way that the day could have been better. The weather was amazing, so much good food, all our friends and family there and Brylee had an blast playing with everyone ๐Ÿ˜€ It’s amazing that this time last year she was so tiny and now she’s so big (relatively) and seems like a completely different person! Happy birthday beautiful, lots of love from Daddy on day 308 ๐Ÿ˜€ xoxo

October 31: Fluffy dandelion

Again, the title does a fantastic job of describing the image so there really isn’t much I can add to describe it… It’s halfway through Spring and with the weather warming up and the rain still appearing most weeks, the grass is starting to get way too excited and grow up a storm! Not that happy because it just means I have to mow it more but I’ll let it pass because it’s been awesome weather on day 302 and that makes me happy ๐Ÿ˜€

October 30: Waving goodbye

Mel went out this afternoon and, as usual, Brylee crawled to the door and pulled herself up to wave goodbye. I went out the other door with my camera to grab some photos and here is my favourite. This is an HDR from 3 tiff images created from a a single RAW image and the first time I have really this properly but I like the results! I like that I’m able to get the HDR effect from a scene that would normally be moving too much to capture the three bracketed images, so I could get into this… Pretty happy with my discovery on day 301 ๐Ÿ˜€
